Kuala Lumpur Hotels Review – The FACE Suites Kuala Lumpur

Out of all the Kuala Lumpur Hotels, we chose to stay at The FACE Suites Kuala Lumpur. After 3 days and 2 nights of experience, here is a Kuala Lumpur Hotels Review of this luxury hotel.

Before traveling to Kuala Lumpur, we checked out the hotels featured on various travel sites, and compared the room rates. We wanted a hotel that is new and modern with all the latest amenities, latest technologies, and a rate that is affordable. Our budget was SGD 100 to SGD 150.

After many comparisons, we finally decided on booking with Agoda. We got the suites at around US$86 per night. That is within our budget. Best of all, after we arrived, we realized this was a really great deal!

e.g. optimal timings to enjoy views from Infinity Pool

We took the Aeroline luxury bus from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur. The bus stopped outside Corus Hotel. We walked from there to Suria KLCC, which was opposite this hotel and within few minutes walking distance. Took some time to enjoy and take photos of the famous Petronas Twin Towers there.

We could have taken a taxi to The FACE Suites. But from the maps, we realized that the hotel was situated very near KLCC. So we walked from there to the hotel. It only took us about fifteen minutes to reach it.

Amenities

All of the serviced apartments come with a myriad range of luxury amenities for you to indulge and pamper yourself. We know we did.

Every day we enjoyed the tea and coffee provided at the kitchenette. There was a kitchen hob, kitchen hood, microwave oven, toaster, a full size refrigerator as well as cutlery and utensil. We were impressed that many of the modern appliances are of good reputable brands like Bosch.

We were busy visiting places like the Petronas Twin Towers and Batu Caves, so we hardly had time to cook. But good to know that all we needed was available. We did make full use of the refrigerator, stocking it up with drinks and desserts.

The bathroom was always stocked with premium shampoo, conditioner, body wash, body lotions, and other grooming and washing needs. The towels were many of various sizes, and always replaced with clean ones. The efficient daily housekeeping service made sure of that. There was a hair dryer, too.

There was a high quality Bosch washing machine and dryer. This was so used by us. We would wash the clothes we wore for the day, had it dried, then tidied it with a bit of ironing with the steam iron and ironing board. Voila! The few clothes we brought lasted for days.

Of course, there were the usual IDD telephone, in-room personal safe box to keep all your valuables safe while you explore the city, LED TV with 40 ASTRO channels, and of course complimentary high speed broadband internet.

Gymnasium

Need to keep fit while traveling? The FACE Suites have got you covered. Fully fitted with the latest cardiovascular and strength machines, the gymnasium at the 51st floor is super for your workout while you enjoy fantastic views of the city.

Caution: The gymnasium is on the same floor as the Infinity Pool. Many did not make it to the gymnasium after they have seen the pool. Ha ha

Breathtaking View from the Infinity Pool

One of the hotel features that really attracted us was the Infinity Pool on the 51st Floor. It was the highest floor of the buiding where you could enjoy a stunning view of the Kuala Lumpur skyline.

The pool was truly amazing! It appeared borderless. And when you swim to the edge, you would enjoy stunning panoramic views of the city. You could see the Petronas Twin Towers and KL Tower.

Tip: We highly recommend experiencing the view from the Infinity Pool during the day and night. Especially sunrise, and just as the sun sets (the latter to see how the buildings light up)

Here are videos of the view during day and night:

Additional Tip: For those traveling with kids, there is a Children’s Wading Pool that is also on the 51st floor, just next to the Infinity Pool

Attractions Nearby

Many of the well known attractions are within easy access from this location. There is the KL Forest Eco Park (formerly known as Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve) that is only a walking distance of 17 minutes away. It has one of the oldest forest reserves in Malaysia.

KLCC that has Petronas Twin Towers, Suria KLCC, KLCC Park, Aquaria KLCC, plus many more interesting places is about 15 minutes away by foot. While we were there, we often visited this place as there is so much to explore.

Other attractions that are not so near but worth a mention are Bukit Bintang, Chinatown, and Batu Caves, just to name a few. All within easy reach via the Monorail or LRT.

Cafes & Restaurants

The hotel has a restaurant and a cafe; respectively Tangerine and Cafe Il Viso. We did not had time to enjoy the food and drinks there. Mostly because we wanted to experience dining out in the city.

Speaking of which, you will be spoilt for choice here. For example, there are so many cafes and restaurants at Suria KLCC. We tried the food court on the first day, and a couple of cafes and restaurants the following days. The most memorable was Madam Kwan Restaurant. Great food there! A review is coming soon.

Bukit Bintang and Chinatown also offers a wide range of local and foreign delights. At Bukit Bintang, we discovered a very fascinating cafe called DC Comics Super Heroes Store and Cafe. We are also going to write a review of this wondrous place soon. Come back soon to read about it!

Location

The FACE Suites is conveniently located along Jalan Sultan Ismail that is in the vicinity of the well known ‘Golden Triangle‘ of Kuala Lumpur. The Golden Triangle is known as the city’s shopping, commercial and entertainment hub. The hotel is also very close to Suria KLCC, Petronas Twin Towers and KL Tower.

The other areas such as Bukit Bintang, Chinatown and others are all within easy access from this serviced residences suites.

Getting Around

It is quite easy to get around Kuala Lumpur from The FACE Suites. One way, of course, is to take the cab if you have the budget. Taxis are not expensive. But do be careful to take those that go by meter, or at least the agreed rate before you start the journey.

The nearest Monorail station is Bukit Nanas, and takes about 5 minutes to reach there. The monorail can bring you to almost anywhere within the city.

Then there is the Dang Wangi LRT station, which is also about 5 minutes walk away. The LRT system is quite extensive. You can also transit to the main train lines like KTM Komuter to travel to places like the famous Batu Caves. Here is a post about Getting To Batu Caves via the train systems.
