Hey everyone, I am Timotheus. When I am not giving lectures, I love traveling and visiting cities and towns all over Asia. It is a thrill for me to find and share awesome places to see, great tasting food to eat, and restful rooms to get a good night’s sleep.

Thank you so much, I wish you a happy Chinese New Year too!
Here in Melbourne, China Town, we’re having all the Chinese new year celebrations and it’s amazing to watch!
Please tell me, what does the year of the fire rooster represent?
Thanks & happy new year!
Wow! That sounds fantastic! Wish I am in Melbourne to enjoy watching that too!
The Chinese calendar goes in a cycle of 12 years. Every year is represented by an animal. This year it is the Rooster.
It is the Fire Rooster because along with the 12-year cycle, Feng Shui also goes in a cycle of 5 elements – Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water. So every 12 years, an element of the animal becomes the astrology sign for that year. This year it is the Fire element.
Hence, the combination becomes the Fire Rooster.
Wishing you a successful Chinese New Year of the Rooster! 🙂
